Policy statement Due WED April 23 - chapter 4

Write a one page paper describing your policies -
(no need to put exact dollar amounts)
This is similar to a syllabus.

What are your musical expectations? Do you expect them to read music? use recording device?
Purchase their own music (i.e. copyright laws are strict, especially with regards to all-state auditions)
what are the benefits of vocal study?
visitors?
make-up lessons?
will people be allowed to come late?
payment methods (once per month, cash only, per lesson, etc....)

Here is a sample: - CREATE YOUR OWN!

Please read through the studio policies as there have been some changes made.

STUDIO POLICY

·  Payment is due the 1st lesson of the month (I do not wish to have to assess a late fee )
·  My fees are currently - ------------month for one hour lessons (mailing is fine, if you would like to be billed, please let me know)
·  New students will be required to take a music reading and piano playing diagnostic test
·  Due to the complexity of lesson schedules, per lesson payment will not be allowed
·  If I need to cancel for any reason I WILL make up the time with the student
·  If a make-up lesson is scheduled and the student cancels there will be no additional make – up lesson for that missed time.
·  If the student hoarse or sick – they should NOT sing, but please call as soon as possible (24 hours notice preferred) if you need to cancel
·  Students will be asked to purchase music (photocopying music is against copyright laws) but I will make every effort to keep to a select few books.
·  If your student is not actively practicing, I reserve the right to send them home for that lesson, and possibly to discontinue lessons.  Any instrumental training is only successful when the student PRACTICES.  Encourage your student to practice daily.
·  If a student is experiencing excessive absences or tardiness, I will encourage the student to take time off from attending lessons until they have resolved the issue.
·  Please be on time when dropping or picking up your student :)

If you have ANY questions regarding voice lessons or my policies, feel free to call!

Please remember to PRACTICE daily!
You will succeed because YOU have worked for it!
